It’s been quite awhile since we’ve written! It’s been a crazy few weeks and months for us here in Rome as we prepare to move to Middle Tennessee in advance of our upcoming Church Plant.
What Have We Been Up To?
For the most part… trying to make some money to live on over the next year before the church takes off.
It was our initial intention to begin fundraising immediately after we found that we were approved to plant this church with ARC. We know that we are going to need A LOT of resources to get it started, and it was our idea to jump on and get moving!
That idea changed after meeting with our Church Planting coach a few months ago. He advised us to find an external income to help with our personal finances. The more that we can raise for the church and not for our living expenses, the better chance we have for success.
So, in short, I’ve been working on an ever-growing online project that I hope to finish over the weekend. I can’t promise anything, but it definitely has the potential of being a game changer for us. If it doesn’t work out… well I guess that it’s back to the drawing board. 😉
Whatever happens with that, Norah will be getting a job once we move to the Nashville area. I doubt that I’ll be able to do anything full time. I’ll need to be traveling A LOT for the fundraising, etc.
Moving Date
We really want to move by the end of the month/year. That is our goal. It’s a perfect time to change. The kids will be on Christmas break, and it’ll be a lot easier for them to pick up in new schools in a new semester in January.
We have a few things that need to happen before then.
- I need to finish this online project ASAP.
- We need the finances necessary to move. I feel like we are on life support right now, and moving is a HUGE financial hit. Rent is more expensive in Middle Tennessee, we’ll need to pay a deposit, the moving costs, new vehicle tags, etc. At this moment, we can’t take on that financial hit… so please pray with us that God would provide.
- We need to decide exactly what part of Middle TN we want to move to. There are advantages and disadvantages of each area. Basically we are looking at South Nashville, Smyrna or Murfreesboro.
- We need to find a house!
So, each one of those are dependent on the other one. I wish we could just cross one off at a time, but really I must complete this project and get some money flowing before anything else can happen. Pray with us that it does!

We just wanted to thank all of you so much for being a part of our lives and ministry over the years. God has done so much, and we believe the the best is yet to come. We love you all, and thank God continually for you.
Please keep all of us; Norah, Erynn, Jordan, Derrick & myself in your prayers. All of these changes aren’t easy on anyone, but God has given me an amazing family who believes in what we are doing and trust that God has it all figured out!
